Bank Holiday Updates Written By: xanda January 25 2019 General The bank holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity to give your home a quick refresh and with a few old tricks, tired furniture and accessories can be made to look as good as new. This week we’ve rounded up some of our go-to updates, all of which can be completed over a long weekend. Image: Houzz 1. Revamp a Chair If your dining chairs are in need of an update, giving them a fresh lick of paint can make all the difference. Bright hues make for a fun addition, especially for kitchen spaces and you won’t necessarily need to update every single one as a few can really make a statement. Image: Pinterest 2. Frame Your Photographs Creating a feature wall full of beautiful photos and prints is a great way to add a personal touch to a room. Frame photos in a group to create a focal point or print pictures in black and white for a streamlined look. Image: Pinterest 3. New handles Simply changing the handles on a chest of drawers can transform it in a flash. Pretty ceramic designs will look beautiful against white or pale wood pieces and for those looking to add a touch of glamour, gold or silver spray paint can be used to upcycle existing knobs. If a shelving unit or display cabinet could do with a bit of a makeover, apply a bright or patterned wallpaper on the back. We also love how wallpaper has been used on these stairs to create a tiled effect. Image: Pinterest Image: Good Housekeeping 5. Repaint your front door Changing the colour of your front door can instantly change the look of your home and fresh, bold colours are a nice way to add character.
